In general, my co-workers are a pretty tame bunch, but there are a few hardcore guys mixed in there. In my direct team, they're mostly family men. SB has a boat, and goes water skiing - that's about the most hardcore of them all.

I think the thing that makes work feel like university is the cafeterias. Just about every building on campus either has access to or has a cafeteria. There are some minor variations, such as some of them only have a "grab and go" which is basically a delicatessen of sorts (overpriced, shitty selection, etc.) and some rely on the infrastructure ( Read more... )

Everyone knows that there are perks to working where I do. Good health plan, dental, if you need it physiotherapy, so on and so forth. There are little things on a day to day basis that are pretty awesome though ( Read more... )

There are a variety of things that people seem to stock in their offices, but overall usually it's pretty mainstream if you have:

• Food (cereal)
• Something from home, or something quirky. I have vegemite, my office share OC has a big Pikachu light.
